LCI Education is constantly seeking to offer unique experiences to its students in order to enrich their academic path. Convinced of the importance of inspiring tomorrow's generation, LCI wanted to offer its students the opportunity to meet a leading figure in the field they are passionate about.
On September 16th, LCI had the pleasure of holding a masterclass with none other than Pepe Muñoz. This conference, exclusive to members of the LCI network, attracted a large number of students from various campuses including LaSalle College Montreal, LaSalle College Vancouver, LCI Monterrey and LCI Barcelona.
The world-renowned dancer, fashion designer and illustrator spoke about his fascinating creative journey, sharing his learnings and experiences with passion and authenticity. He also explained the importance of bringing creativity to life.
"As humans, we all have problems and struggles. I had reached a point in my life where I was no longer happy as a dancer. However, in this field, I was entering a very fashion-oriented, very "dramatic" environment every day, full of sketching, art and sewing. So that's kind of how it all started. A little light in my head that made me see that fashion was beautiful. Fashion illustration makes fashion even more exaggerated and dramatic, I've always loved it!
So I knew I was done dancing and now I was going to draw. Of course at first, all my friends tried to discourage me, but I didn't listen to them. I trusted my instincts. And that's when I got the famous call from Celine Dion. "
"As soon as you walk out the door, there will be people who love you and people who hate you and you can accept those conditions or spend your life unhappy. It's not always easy, because we are humans with emotions. The important thing is to keep doing what we love.
As with many things in life, sometimes you have to pound on your pride, make a phone call and seize the opportunity. There will always be at least one opportunity waiting for you.
Don't be embarrassed to admit to people that you've never done anything. If they still choose to give you an opportunity, you will be ready to take it. This is how you learn and grow. Above all, be humble and seize opportunities to learn and above all, be able to know when it is best to keep quiet and listen. "
"The best thing I've ever done in my life was to go to a therapist and talk to someone. And I recommend it to everyone. Even if you think you don't have a problem. Because it makes you feel stronger and you have the weapons you need to move on to the next step. "
